The busiest month of the year is officially upon us, so the last thing I want to do is think about my outfit before you run out the door. Lucky for me, Jennifer Lopez just put together the outfit plan I want to live by this winter using a variation of the coat style Taylor Swift and Angelina Jolie has recently rocked and created an everyday fit that feels casual but doesn’t look it.

The singer and actress, 55, somehow made holiday shopping look effortless as she stepped out in Beverly Hills wearing a classic outfit that was simple but carefully put together. From the artfully tucked shirt with a lazy button-down neckline to the flared jeans to the heavy gray coat, every piece of jewelry played an integral role in this casual ensemble that can make anyone look put together in a flash.

Most people have a trench coat like them Brooke Shields and Gwyneth Paltrow has been seen wearing, but Lopez appears to be made of a thicker fabric better suited to winter weather. Since I likely can’t afford her coat, I used my shopping writing skills to find alternative styles in a variety of silhouettes and fabrics to get her look at a palatable price—but I didn’t stop there.

From the Mac coat collar to the belted silhouette, this heavily discounted coat is a great mashup between Lopez’s style and trench coats that we’ve seen celebrities reach for time after time. It features a set of hidden buttons that mimic her single-breasted coat and a detachable belt that makes a fashion statement.

One reviewer called it the “perfect all-weather coat” and praised its rain-resistant fabric, while another praised its roomy design, which makes it easier to layer sweaters underneath. Style this sweeping trench with a button-down and a pair of jeans like the star, or few ready for a holiday party with a set of knee high boots, a skirt, tights and a sweater.

In my opinion, no wardrobe is complete without a simple button-down shirt. My only request: It needs to be oversized. Judging by the way Lopez’s is loosely tucked into the waistband of her jeans, I’m guessing her top is similar to this one – slightly baggy and totally fashionable. Featuring a drop-shoulder silhouette that complements its forgiving shape, this top creates a timeless outfit with any pair of jeans, trousers or skirts, and is perfect under a jacket.

Although we have known Lopez as one fan of wide leg jeans over the past few years, she slipped into a flared style for this latest outing. Levi’s jeans don’t just get rave reviews from Beyoncébut they were some of the best jeans we’ve tested this year, making these flares some of the best money can buy (for us, that is).

“(I) can’t live without my Levi’s,” wrote a shopper. They explained that these jeans are usually expensive, so they try to buy them on sale – and lucky for you, they cost less than usual in in the wake of Cyber Monday. “But even if they’re not, (they’re) still worth every penny,” they concluded.
