Freezing rain warning in effect

Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for London and parts of midwestern Ontario.

The affected areas are:

• Huron County
• Perth County
• Middlesex County
• Oxford County

Environment Canada warns of ice build-up on some surfaces.

“Freezing rain or freezing drizzle mixed with snow is expected to develop Sunday afternoon and may continue into this evening,” Environment Canada said.

“The freezing rain is expected to change to light rain as temperatures moderate overnight.”

It is expected to extend into Sunday evening, but the weather agency said there is still some uncertainty about the timeline.

The OPP reminds drivers to adjust their driving according to the weather and plan trips accordingly.
