UFC books Shara Magomedov vs. Michael Page for February 1 event in Riyadh

A striker’s delight is on its way to Riyadh.

Shara Magomedov takes on Michael Page at a UFC Fight Night 250 event on February 1 from the ANB Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (ESPN+).

UFC CEO Dana White announced the middleweight co-headliner Saturday.

Magomedov (15-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) called out former champion Israel Adesanya after scoring a spectacular double backfist knockout of Armen Petrosyan at UFC 308 in Abu Dhabi. Adesanya rebuffed Magomedov, but Page said he would be happy to step in and take the fight – and he got his wish.

In his most recent fight, Page (22-3 MMA, 1-1 UFC) was surprised in a close decision loss to Ian Machado Garry at UFC 303 in June. “MVP” stayed active by competing in a fight where he defeated former WEC champion and former UFC interim champion Carlos Condit in the main event of Polaris 30 earlier this month.

With the addition, the UFC Fight Night 250 lineup includes:

  • Israel Adesanya vs. Nasourdine Imavov
  • Shara Magomedov vs. Michael Page

  • Ikram Aliskerov vs. Other Muniz
