Former UGA football player in critical condition after crash in Florida

ATHENS, Ga. – The hashtag #PrayForGleaton is trending this morning as a show of support for former University of Georgia football player Gleaton Jones.

Jones, a former walk-on running back, was part of the Bulldogs’ historic 2021 College Football Playoff National Championship team. He is currently in critical condition following a car accident last week during a hunting trip on St. George Island in Florida, according to The Red & Black.

Jones suffered a severe brain injury and underwent emergency surgery.
