Brewers trade closer Devin Williams to New York Yankees

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WFRV) – The The Milwaukee Brewers have officially traded all-star closer Devin Williams to the New York Yankees.

According to ESPN’s Jeff Passanthe two teams agreed to a deal that sent Williams to the Yankees. In return, Milwaukee acquired a left-handed starter, Nestor Cortes, and a second baseman, Caleb Durbin.

Williams has spent six seasons in Milwaukee, earning an all-star nod in two of them (2022, 2023). He was the 2020 NL Rookie of the Year and recorded 68 saves for the Brew Crew.
