‘Hawk tuah girl’ exposes crypto coin that crashes shortly after launch

Haley Welchwho is the woman known as “Hawk tuah girl,” launched her own memecoin on Solanawhere the cryptocurrency reportedly soon crashed in its unveiling.

“Hawk is alive!!!” Welch, a 22-year-old social media influencer, wrote X on Wednesday night.

The post included a 3-second video of Welch excitedly shouting about the launch.

According to Solana, Welch’s token then rose to $500 million — before plummeting to less than $60 million in just 20 minutes.

Critics continued to accuse her of plotting cryptocurrency scams.

Shortly after the launch, Welch took to social media again, saying that her team “tried to stop snipers as best we could through high fees (sic) at the start of the launch.” She added that her team had not sold one token.

Ahead of the launch, Welch said Assets the memecoin was “not just a cash grab,” adding that while she previously believed cryptocurrency was “just a scam” and an “easy way for you to lose money,” she has since changed her mind.

Welch gained notoriety over the summer when she made an X-rated remark. Aside from her crude comment, she also recently helped establish “Haliey Welch’s Paws Across America,” a nonprofit organization that raises awareness and funds for animal charities across the United States

“Ever since my life changed so publicly, I realized there had to be a reason,” Welch said on the nonprofit’s website. “Growing up, the constant in my life were my pets and they helped me get through so much. By starting Haliey Welch’s Paws Across America, my newfound financial blessings will be shared with the animals who need it most for that.”
