Dane Key Enters NCAA Transfer Portal: Kentucky Wildcats Football Transfers

We knew it was going to be a rough offseason for the Kentucky Wildcats, but this one stings.

On Wednesday, standout wide receiver Dane Key entered the NCAA’s transfer portal.

Key announced it on Instagram.

With that, Kentucky loses its top wide receiver heading into the 2025 season, which is sure to see seismic changes throughout the roster. The Lexington native finished last season with career highs in receptions (47) and receiving yards (715 yards), both leading the team, while catching two touchdowns.

Key finishes his Kentucky career with 126 catches for 1,870 yards and 14 touchdowns. He will go down as one of the best pass catchers of the Mark Stoops era.

Look for Key to get an evaluation from as well NFL Draft selection, although it looks more likely that he will play one more college season. It just won’t happen in Kentucky.

Good luck to Key as he embarks on the next step in his football journey.
