When will Spotify Wrapped 2024 be released?

As the year winds down, music fans are excited to celebrate the music of 2024 from “Brat” to “Cowboy Carter” with Spotify wrappedan annual campaign that combines Spotify user listening data into an interactive display of the user’s most listened to music from the past year.

However, despite teasing the release date on social media, Spotify is later than usual in releasing Wrapped, and music lovers everywhere are starting to get impatient. The music streaming service hasn’t dropped Wrapped later than December 1st since 2019, making this year’s release the latest in five years.

When does Spotify Wrapped 2024 drop?

Spotify has yet to announce when 2024 Wrapped will drop, but the history of the event suggests it’s coming soon — probably this week. Over the past six years, the fall has come in late November or early December:

2023: Thursday 30 Nov
2022: Wednesday 30 Nov
2021: Wednesday 1 December
2020: Tuesday 1 Dec
2019: Thursday 5 December
2018: Thursday 6 December

Following the mid-week trend in early December, many people on social media believe Spotify Wrapped will drop Tuesday-Thursday this week. Spotify hasn’t confirmed these rumors, but the streaming service has continued to fuel them with pop-up messages teasing 2024 Wrapped, which debuted on November 29.

Users also noticed that Spotify France created a live event on TikTok entitled “We Predict Your Wrapped 2024” will be broadcast overnight from the 3rd-4th. December, leading many to believe that Wednesday, December 4th will be the release date of the year.

What is Spotify Wrapped?

Launched in 2015, the year-in-review feature displays a user’s top songs, artists and genres in various Instagrammable graphics, as well as a playlist of the user’s 100 most streamed songs.

Spotify Wrapped also includes fun facts like music auras, the total amount of songs streamed and the number of new artists listened to that year.

How to watch Spotify Wrapped

Users will be alerted when their Spotify Wrapped is ready by a pop-up when they open the Spotify app, as long as the app is updated to the latest version. Spotify also typically writes about the release date on its social media.
