Whip it! star shares heartbreaking health update from hospital bed after stroke | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

Whip it! star Michael Baggott worried fans after sharing a series of videos from his hospital bed on Saturday.

The former BBC One antiques expert informed his followers on social media that he has been bedridden at Good Hope Hospital in Birmingham for five weeks following a stroke.

He left fans deeply concerned after sharing his experience at the hospital, sharing the conditions he was recovering from.

He added that X: “I’m dying of thirst in a British NHS hospital and nobody seems to be doing anything about it.

‘I would say that the nursing staff, the junior doctors here, have been the saving grace. They all want to help, but they can’t.

“The top management and the chief doctors, whom I never see, always refuse water and treatment.

“One said to me yesterday: If I don’t get over my ideas I’ll never be able to walk again in three weeks. Of course the junior staff told me it was nonsense, but it’s symptomatic of the treatment here on the spot.

“All the staff are busting their bellies to help you; the management and senior surgeons are not.”

He clarified in the comments that he is in his “fifth bedridden week” before adding a new post on Sunday, saying he is feeling “happier” and “more hopeful”.

In the video, he said: “Finally hydrated, Radio 3 banging and a bit happier, a bit more hopeful. Thanks to everyone who either came or sent a message. Hopefully the road back starts now.”

In response to his comments, fans shared their disbelief at his alleged treatment from the hospital.

One said: “Gosh it’s unbelievable it could get this bad! I wish you a very speedy recovery Michael.”

Another replied: “I hope you feel much better very soon, so sorry to hear you’ve been feeling so bad.”

A fourth wrote: “Sending our love and best wishes Michael, keep your spirits up and keep believing.”

While a fifth added: “‘Michael I hope you start feeling better soon don’t give up x.”

Another fan shared: “Michael, I am truly shocked by this and deeply saddened. As with everyone here, I can only send you my sincere hopes for your full recovery. Be strong, boy; be strong.”
