DELPHI, Ind. ― Someone discovered Evan Wood missing from his home early Monday morning, and friends and family began searching for him. They found his body around 11 a.m. Monday in the Tippecanoe River.

The 911 call indicated that Wood, 23, of Monticello, was found in the river in the 6400 block of North Carroll County Road 1225 West, according to Indiana Department of Natural Resources conservation officers.

Wood was pronounced dead at the scene, according to conservation officers.

Investigators are trying to determine where Wood was after 22 Sunday, which is when he was last seen, according to conservation officers.

Wood’s cause of death is pending autopsy results.
