Spotify drops a BIG teaser for Wrapped 2024 – and eagle-eyed fans think they’ve cracked all 9 references

The launch of Spotify Wrapped is a day that music fans either anticipate or dread.

The tool lets you dig deep into your past 12 months of musical obsessions – and reveal your trendy or tragic listening habits.

While Spotify has yet to confirm a release date for Wrapped 2024, it has posted a teaser video on X (formerly Twitter).

‘This year featured crowds. So will your Wrapped. Coming soon,’ it mysteriously wrote.

The video features nine versions of the iconic Spotify logo in different colors and designs.

For example, one logo is black and gray and has metallic spikes around the edge.

Another is purple and white and has subtle sparkles.

It hasn’t taken eagle-eyed viewers long to scrutinize all nine logos – and now they think they’ve cracked the references.

Spotify released the teaser at 14:00 GMT on 27 November and 16.42 GMT the same day, X uses @vitudos had cracked all nine references.

The first logo looks like a coffee cup, which @vitudos claims is a reference to Sabrina Carpenter’s album.

‘espesso — short n’ sweet, by sabrina carpenter,’ they tweeted.

Chappell Roan’s album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, is represented by the light blue and white logo, while the bronze and silver logo is a reference to Beyonce’s Cowboy Carter, according to the fan.

One of the easiest logos to crack is undoubtedly the lime green one, which is somewhat reminiscent of Spotify’s original logo.

‘brat, by charli xcx’, @vitudos simply wrote along with a photo of the Brat album.

The black and gray logo with the pointed edge is a reference to Hardstone Pscyho by Don Toliver, according to the fan.

Taylor Swift’s Tortured Poets Department, meanwhile, is represented by the dark purple and white logo, and the yellow snakeskin logo is a reference to Hiss by Megan Thee Stallion.

Finally, the purple, water-like logo is a reference to Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard and Soft, and the purple glittery logo is a reference to Guts (Spilled) by Olivia Rodridgo.

While @vitudos may have cracked the references, fans are still torn on the likely release date for Spotify Wrapped.

“So spotify wrapped is coming out either tomorrow or December 2nd,” one user suggested.

Another wrote: ‘Spotify probably coming out on December 4th.’

And one joked: ‘2024 Wrapped release date: December 32, stay tuned.’

Meanwhile, another user analyzed the release dates of previous years in hopes of getting answers.

‘Spotify Wrapped release dates in recent years: 2018 – December 6, 2019 – December 5, 2020 – December 1, 2021 – December 1, 2022 – November 30, 2023 – November 29, 2024 – ???’ they wrote.
