Check out Gus Johnson’s call on Michigan QB Davis Warren’s interception

Midway through the fourth quarter of the Michigan-Ohio State rivalry, the Wolverines were driving and looking for a go-ahead touchdown.

With the score tied at 10, Michigan, a three-touchdown underdog, was at the 3-yard line and threatening to enter the end zone when quarterback Davis Warren made a huge mistake. After faking a pass, Warren tight end Hogan Hansen had open in the end zone for a likely touchdown.

Warren dropped the pass and Ohio State defensive lineman Jack Sawyer intercepted the pass, sending Fox play-by-play announcer Gus Johnson into a frenzy trying to describe the play.

“Warren looks … and it’s intercepted at the goal line. Unbelievable,” Johnson exclaimed, voice cracking throughout. “Wow, Jack Sawyer, the hero. Captain Jack.”

As Ohio State and Michigan traded turnovers in the second half, Johnson had emphatic calls on each play that are his trademark on the Fox broadcasts.
