Fans rally for Dolly Parton’s family after devastating loss

Fans gather Dolly Parton and her family in the wake of the passing of her brother David on Friday 15 November.

“My brother David passed away peacefully this morning,” Dolly’s sister, Stella Parton, told X. “Saying goodbye to a loved one is never easy, but he got his angel wings and is now at peace.”

While Dolly has yet to post anything on her own social feeds, fans flooded Stella’s posts with messages of support.

“I’m so sorry for your loss. My deepest sympathies to your family,” one X user commented. “My family offers your family our deepest condolences and prayers,” wrote another X user. “Sending tons of healing hugs to you and your family,” another noted.

David Wilburn Parton was 82 years old when he died. Although his cause of death has not been revealed, his purpose in living is.

“My brother David was always referred to as ‘Sweet David’ because of his kindness, loyalty and soft-spoken demeanor. He was also a US Marine,” Stella continued in her tribute post.

This mention naturally heralded even more support from fans near and far, with many echoing ‘Semper Fi!’ In her comment box.

According to the obituary published on Farrar Funeral HomeDavid spent his life working on bridges. At the time of his death, he was a retired bridge construction superintendent residing in White Pine, Tennessee.
