Spurs vs. Roma: Lineups and game thread

After a disappointing (albeit predictable) 1-0 defeat to Napoli in Claudio Ranieri’s return as Roma manager last weekend, the Giallorossi turned their attention back to the Europa League today as they face Tottenham Hotspur on the road. With just five points from their first four EC games, Roma’s domestic struggles have rubbed off on their European campaign. While the mood around the club seems to have improved since the departure of Ivan Juric, the club are still in the midst of a terrible stretch, having dropped points in eight of their last ten games.

Toppling Tottenham, currently 6th in the Premier League, is no easy feat. Still, given how awful Roma’s season has been to date, we may need to adjust our barometers for success. Yes, a win would be great, and even a well-played draw would be easy to digest, but let’s be honest: just leaving London with their pride and sense of self-respect intact should be considered a success.

Can Tinkerman conjure more out of the Giallorossi today? We’re finding out!
