Carly Pearce compares the ‘Voice’ artist’s unmistakable vocals to music legends

Carly Pearce joins his “Maybe This Christmas” duet partner Michael Bublé to act as Playoff Advisor for his team on The voice.

Bublé said in a new shared promo on Instagram on Tuesday afternoon (November 26) that Pearce is “one of the hottest acts in what is the hottest genre of music in the world” and he’s “a genius” to team up with her on the smash competition show.

“I love The voice. I’ve always wanted to be able to be a part of something like this,” Pearce said as she stepped into her role as Playoff Advisor. “You can see yourself in these artists and you see the dream they have and you see the potential.

“There are so few voices of any generation— Tracy Chapman, Adele — you know within three notes who it is. And you have one of them,” the hummingbird star told a Team Michael singer. Pearce told another: “I was 14 and I took a job singing at Dolly Parton‘s theme park, Dollywood., because I knew I had a dream. And I’m just saying to you, believe that you can do it and don’t chase anything else down because you’re meant to do this.”

Pearce’s performance at The voice arrives shortly after she and Bublé released a stunning holiday duet and music video together. Bublé will make his coaching debut this season alongside his first-time coach Snoop Dogg and returning coaches Gwen Stefani and Reba McEntire.

“I would have loved to have been able to just have a conversation with somebody, you know, in this position when I started. And just to have a cheerleader that understands the process,” Pearce said. The voice airs on NBC Tuesday nights at 9pm ET/8pm CT and will stream on Peacock.
