ForbesNEW ‘Connections’ hints and answers for November 26

It’s Wednesday, and you know what that means: it’s time for another round Connections! (Apologies to those of you who don’t get this, but IYKYK.)

The last few games haven’t been too easy, especially considering the purple groups. I imagine a lot of people didn’t get the Chinese philosophy from Monday.

As far as I know, the Eloise series of children’s books that made up yesterday’s purple doesn’t have much of a footprint at all in the UK where I grew up. I was a voracious, open-minded reader as a child, and I had never heard of that series. I’m curious how popular they were/are in North America.

Here’s hoping for a slightly easier game today.

Today’s NEW Connections advice and answers for Wednesday 27 November will come straight up.

How Connections plays

Connections is a free, popular New York Times daily word game. You get a new puzzle at midnight every day. You can play on NEW website or game app.

You are presented with a grid of 16 words. Your task is to arrange them into four groups of four by finding out the connections between them. The groups can be things like clickable items, names of research study participants, or words with a body part in front.

There is only one solution to each puzzle and you have to be careful when it comes to words that can fit into more than one category. You can mix up the words to perhaps help you see connections between them.

Each group is color coded. The yellow group is usually the easiest to figure out, blue and green fall in the middle, and the purple group is usually the hardest. The purple group often involves puns.

Choose four words that you think fit together and press send. If you guess and you’re wrong, you lose a life. If you’re close to having a correct group, you may see a message telling you that you’re one word away from getting it right, but you still need to figure out which one to swap.

If you make four mistakes, it’s game over. Let’s make sure that doesn’t happen with some tips and if you’re really struggling, today’s is Connections answer. As with Wordle and other similar games, it’s easy to share results with your friends on social media and group chat.

If you have one NEW Free access or Spil subscription you can access Connections file. This includes all previous games of Connectionsso you can go back and play any of them you missed.

Apart from the first 60 games or so, you should be able to find my tips for each grid via Google if you need them! Just click here and add the date of the game for which you need clues or the answers to the search query.

What are today’s connections answers?

Spoiler alert! Don’t scroll down the page any further until you’re ready to find out about today Connections answer.

This is your final warning!

Today’s Connections the answers are…

  • Yellow group — not working reliably (BUGGY, ERRATISCH, GLITCHY, SPOTTED)
  • Green group — car parts (BUMPER, GRILL, MIRROR, RIM)
  • Blue group — what a babysitter can sit (BABY, HOUSE, PET, PLANT)
  • Purple group — ____ band (BOY, RUBBER, TRIBUTE, WEDDING)

My streak is over after a five-day run. But hey, at least I’d be sitting pretty if this was Danger. Here’s how I managed:

I was overconfident with a guess of RUBBER, BUMPER, GRILL and RIM before I realized that the first one didn’t really belong and I was one away from a group. I jerked it, threw in the MIRROR and had the greens. Then I had no problems with the yellow ones.

HOUSE, BABY, PET and WEDDING seemed like a decent group of life milestones, so I guessed at the other four words and thought they would be the purple ones. But no, I was one gone again.

PLANT and PET seemed like the two best words to swap. But once again I was one away.

I was down to the wire at this point. I was amazed and didn’t think a TRIBUTE was necessarily a milestone in life, but I gave it a shot anyway. And that was the end of my streak.

I’m annoyed with myself for this loss because the very first thing that came to mind as soon as I saw RUBBER in the top left corner was “band”. I should have listened to my gut. Or at least remembered later in the game. So silly.

PS After Chappell Roan, Flowerovlove is my absolute favorite musical discovery of the year. I really can’t get enough of her ear-beating bedroom pop.

I’ve been thinking about buying a bass guitar for a while, and might actually do it after the holidays, just so I can learn that funky bass line to “delete you”. So even though I recommended two Flowerovlove songs a few weeks ago, here are a few more:
