The Clemson Tigers and San Francisco Dons meet Monday in college basketball action from the Ocean Center. Here is a San Francisco vs Clemson prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best San Francisco vs Clemson pick.

Clemson Tigers Betting Preview

The Tigers posted a streak of three double-digit wins to start the year, shutting out Charleston Southern, St. Francis PA and Eastern Kentucky. Clemson’s first loss was to Boise State in game four, then the Tigers bounced back with a win over Radford.

On Thursday against the Highlanders, Clemson delivered a 38-26 run in the first half and a 41-25 stretch in the second for a 79-51 blowout victory. Chauncey Wiggins topped the team with 16 points, while Dillon Hunter added 15 points in 23 minutes.

San Francisco Dons Betting Preview

Over on the Dons’ side, they got off to a great start with four wins in a row. San Francisco took out Cal Poly, Boise State, Long Beach State and Chicago State at that time. However, game five was a loss for Memphis.

Against Memphis on Thursday, the Dons held a 31-22 edge at halftime. However, San Francisco was outscored 46–33 the rest of the way and lost 68–64. Malik Thomas was the only team player in double figures with 25 points.

Why the Clemson Tigers Will Win

  • Clemson has won 12 of its last 13 night games against non-conference opponents.
  • San Francisco has lost each of its last six Monday night games played at neutral sites.
  • Clemson has won the first half in seven of its last eight night games against non-conference opponents.

San Francisco vs Clemson Prediction

I’ll probably go with San Francisco here. However, the Dons are coming off a tough second half versus a pretty good Memphis team and need a big turnaround on Monday. In the loss to the Tigers, San Francisco shot just 32.8 percent overall and 21.4 percent (6-of-28) from 3-point range. It was the first time all year that the Dons had not registered at least 82 points.

As for Clemson, they are coming off a solid effort against a Radford team that is pretty good for its level. The Tigers shot 51 percent from the floor in that one with 36 rebounds and 12 team assists. Clemson has scored 71 or more points in every game so far. San Francisco will really need to hit the gas on offense to hold off a deck/wind pace, but I think the Dons can pull it off if all goes well.
