What would Thanksgiving be without football?

And family, food and tradition, of course.

In between turkey trotting, spending time with your loved ones and filling your plate, there will be several matches waiting for you. Three NFL games will be played on Thursday, each with its own special guest performance at halftime.

In the early slot is Lions-Bears, followed by Cowboys-Giants and then Packers-Dolpins to round out the night.

Here’s what you should know as you approach the 2024 Thanksgiving halftime shows in Detroit, Dallas and Green Bay.

Lions halftime on Thanksgiving

Rising country star Shaboozey will perform at halftime during the Lions’ Thanksgiving game against the Bears, the team announced Nov. 10.

This year marks Detroit’s 85th annual Thanksgiving Day Classic. Lions and Bears kick off at Ford Field at 12:30 p.m. ET.

Who is Shaboozey?

Shaboozey is a six-time Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter who began his rise to stardom this year with two features on Beyoncé’s genre-bending album “Cowboy Carter.” He then released his breakthrough record “Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going” in May, which included the smash hit single “A Bar Song (Tipsy).”

The recording artist has since been nominated for a number of awards, including Best New Artist, Song of the Year and Best Country Song at the 2025 Grammys.

Cowboys halftime performer on Thanksgiving

“It’s an honor to follow in the footsteps of legendary artists like my friend Dolly Parton, the Jonas Brothers and Reba, of course,” Wilson said.

As has been the case since 1997, the Cowboys’ Thanksgiving halftime show will be part of the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign for the holiday. Cowboys-Giants kicks off at 4:30 PM ET.

Who is Lainey Wilson?

Lainey Wilson is a Grammy Award-winning and multi-platinum country musician. The 32-year-old has released five studio albums and is currently promoting his latest, called “Whirlwind.” Some of her most popular songs include “Things a Man Oughta Know”, “Heart Like a Truck” and “Watermelon Moonshine”.

Word is that a surprise special guest will join Wilson on stage for her Thanksgiving break.

Packers halftime on Thanksgiving

The Packers do not traditionally host an annual Thanksgiving game, but they have often found themselves playing on Turkey Day when facing NFC rivals Detroit and Dallas. This year, the Packers and Dolphins play at 8:20 PM ET.

Who is Lindsey Stirling?
