Tennessee Titans vs Houston Texans Live Score: Highlights, Stats, TV Channel

The Tennessee Titans have a chance to snap a three-game losing streak in the series against the Houston Texans in Sunday’s game at NRG Stadium.

One of the few positives over the past two weeks has been the steady play of Will Levis following his return from a shoulder injury. Was a mental reset as important for the second-year QB? Levis set a season-high in passing yards in last week’s loss to Minnesota, and the total could have been higher if the offense hadn’t buried itself with penalties.

Defensively, L’Jarius Sneed remains out with a quad injury. He hasn’t played since Week 6 against Indianapolis.

Houston (7-4) holds a comfortable two-game lead over the Colts in the AFC South (plus a season sweep) despite a hit-or-miss offense. CJ Stroud still looks like the franchise QB and Joe Mixon has been a key addition in the running game. Edge rushers Danielle Hunter and Denico Autry will be a big test for the Titans’ OL, especially with the issues at right tackle.

The Titans drive into Houston territory, but a Tony Pollard handoff from Will Levis ends up on the turf. The Texans are recovering. Important game just before the break.

CJ Stroud finds Tank Dell for 39 yards and hits Darrell Baker downfield to spark Houston’s offense. On 3rd and 3 from the Titans’ 5-yard line, Stroud finds Nico Collins in the middle of the end zone for a touchdown. Mike Brown held out to make a huge hit on the play.

PAT good. Houston is back in this one.

Daryl Worley goes low to make a tackle on Joe Mixon and he takes a big shot to the helmet. He stays down on the grass.

Worley had played in place of Amani Hooker. Julius Wood is now in the game, the undrafted rookie.

The Titans go 95 yards in six plays, capped by a Tony Pollard 10-yard touchdown run through some arm tackles up the middle.

Tennessee’s offense hasn’t looked that good all year, both running and passing the football.

The Titans drive to make this a two-score game after a Will Levis 63-yard pass downfield to Calvin Ridley. It’s been an eventful drive that included a Tony Pollard run with several broken tackles and a Danielle Hunter sack that hit JC Latham.

One play after a Will Levis 4th down to move the chains, Levis finds Nick Westbrook-Ikhine for a 38-yard touchdown pass. PAT good.

10 plays, 89 yards in 5:59. NWI has touchdowns in six of the last seven games. Levis is 7-for-7 for 86 yards and has two carries for first downs in the first quarter.

A good first drive for the Titans offense ends with a Will Levis sack by Will Anderson on third down and a 51-yard field goal by Nick Folk.

Anderson worked against Nicholas Petit-Frere, but Levis basically ran into a blocked Anderson on a failed scramble attempt.

After the kickoff return, Cade Stover is left alone down the sideline and it’s an easy pitch and catch for CJ Stroud and the rookie tight end for a touchdown. PAT good.

The Titans’ special teams woes continue as Dameon Pierce sprints for an 80-yard kickoff return. Houston’s first drive opens in the red zone.

Tennessee wins the toss and postpones for the second half. Houston gets the ball first.

The Titans said Sunday that Amani Hooker is questionable to play today with an illness. If he is unable to go, it will cause a shakeup in the defensive backfield with Quandre Diggs already on IR.

The Titans beat reporter Nick Suss’ prediction: Texans 24, Titans 13

Until the Titans prove they can make more of their opportunities count, it’s hard to foresee the offense putting up the kind of points needed to keep pace with the Texans, even if quarterback CJ Stroud isn’t putting up those kinds of numbers. he did last year.
