The Giants’ first possession got off to a promising start with a nice run from Tyrone Tracy. However, it quickly bounced and ended with Tommy DeVito getting a hard hit from Calijah Kancey.

The Buccaneers got the ball to start the game and executed a 14-play touchdown drive that took 8:23 off the clock. The Buccaneers were forced to burn a timeout, but the Giants were unable to get them off the field.

So not much of a spark. The Bucs just marched down the field with little resistance. DeVito will take the field behind 7-0.

It’s a balmy 52 degrees on a windy afternoon at MetLife Stadium. Winds are steady at 15 miles per hour and gusts as high as 30 mph. We will see how the conditions affect the game. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will have the ball to start the game after the Giants win the coin toss and punt.

The New York Giants begin the post-Daniel Jones era on Sunday at MetLife Stadium when they host Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 1 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on CBS.

The 2-8 Giants, with former third-stringer Tommy DeVito starting at quarterback, are 5.5-point underdogs per. FanDuel Sportsbook. The Giants have lost five straight and are 0-5 at home this season. The Buccaneers have lost four straight and five of six.

Both teams get key players back. Edge defender Kayvon Thibodeaux returns from a broken wrist and Tampa Bay wide receiver Mike Evans will be back from a hamstring injury.

The game will feature the return of former Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard, who has 16 receptions for the Buccaneers this season. Shepard is fifth in Giants franchise history with 372 catches as a Giant.
