COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) – South Carolina took care of business, downing a hungry Wofford team that capitalized on mistakes throughout the game.

The game started with its fair share of ups and downs.

On the first play of the game, QB Amari Odom throws to Kyle Watkins for a huge gain to the red zone.

However, a defensive stop forced Wofford into three with a field goal.

On the first drive of the game, Sellers threw an interception to Amir Annoor.

South Carolina’s defense stepped up after a shaky start, forcing several stops and giving the offense chances to score.

After a hard-fought drive, the Gamecocks ended with a score by Raheim Sanders to lead 7-3.

In the second quarter, Seller rewarded the defense with a rushing touchdown of his own, making the lead 14-3.

Wofford remained competitive throughout the first half. Near the end of the second quarter, Odom had several chunk plays and the Terriers found themselves with yards of the end zone.

Odom ended the drive with a hit to Dylan Djete, making it 14-9.

South Carolina responded, marching down the field to score their third touchdown of the day on a catch by Maurice Brown II.

South Carolina went into halftime with a 21-9 lead.

The second half began with fireworks. Nyck Harbor got on the board on a 26-yard touchdown run to extend the Gamecock lead to 28-7.

After a missed opportunity by Wofford led to a punt, South Carolina’s offense kept their streak going.

An 11-play, 3-minute drive by the Gamecocks ended in a quick punt to Gage Larvadain. South Carolina improved their score to 35-9 late in the third quarter.

However, Wofford got another opportunity to score. On a punt, Payton Williams fumbled the ball, causing a turnover for the Gamecocks.

The Terriers struggled to get a touchdown, but the South Carolina defense proved to be too much. Wofford was forced into another field goal to make it 35-12.

After a 30-yard screen to Hardaway, the Gamecocks subbed in most of the bench in the fourth.

Scores by Jawarn Howell and Bradley Dunn capped a dominant second half and beat the Wofford Terriers 56-12.

South Carolina heads to Clemson next week for one of the most anticipated Palmetto Series games in recent history.
