Lindsay Lohan, Lacey Chabert Reunite to Reprise ‘Mean Girls’ Roles on ‘WWHL’

When it comes to holiday cheer, there actually is a ton for Glen Coco (and frankly, the rest of us) thanks to the adorableness of Lindsay Lohan and Lacey Chabert Wild girls reunion.

The actresses – who first starred together in the iconic 2004 teen comedy – reunited on Wednesday’s episode of See what’s happening livewhere host Andy Cohen asked them to reprise their roles as Cady Heron and Gretchen Wieners for a brief reenactment of a key Wild girls scene that also saw Cohen wearing a blonde wig like Rachel McAdams’ Regina George.

“Having lunch with the plastic was like leaving the actual world and entering the girl world — and the girl world had a lot of rules,” Lohan said, reciting her lines from the film. Chabert then launched into a revival of the film’s memorable lines about buying “a skirt first without asking your friends if it looked good on you.”

The clip ended with Cohen channeling Regina storming off to get cheese fries, with Chabert and Lohan transitioning to the moment Cady reveals to Gretchen that she’s in love with Aaron Samuels (Jonathan Bennett).

Lohan, 38, and Chabert, 42, also recently reunited at a press event for their respective Netflix Christmas movies Our little secret and Hot Frostywhere both Lohan and Chabert celebrated the holiday reunion on social media.

“So grab my girl,” Lohan told her Instagram story on Nov. 14, along with a photo of the couple embracing. Chabert reposted the photo to her own Instagram storywrite “Love you,” under the picture.

Lohan and Chabert have both participated in Wild girls reunion projects in recent times, including a 2023 holiday ad campaign for Walmart that also starred Amanda Seyfried.

Well done

McAdams was noticeably absent from the ad, with the Oscar-nominated star later elaborating on why she didn’t attend the reunion, 20 years after she, Lohan, Chabert and Seyfried first fronted the film about a teenage girl written by Tina Fey. , Cady (Lohan), who moves from Africa to suburban America and navigates the cliques of girlhood.

“I don’t know; I guess I wasn’t that excited about doing a commercial, to be honest,” McAdams shared Black. “A film sounded great, but I’ve never done commercials and it just didn’t feel like my bag. Also… I didn’t know everyone did. Of course I will always love to be a part of one Wild girls reunion and hanging with my plastic, but yeah, I found that out later.”

Rumors of a reunion sequel have bubbled up for years, though an official sequel featuring all four lead actresses has yet to materialize. Fey returned to the world of Wild girls earlier this year, however, when she released (and reprized her role as Ms. Norbury) a film version of the original film’s Broadway musical adaptation.

Lohan also returned to the film, appearing briefly as the moderator of the Mathletes competition.

“Paramount was like, ‘Can you get any of the original ladies?’ And I was like, ‘I can’t fit five people in,'” Fey, who wrote the screenplay for both films, previously said. Weekly entertainment to argue with appearance. “I felt like if I could just get one person as a surprise, the original movie is really Lindsay’s movie. As great as they all are, she’s the heart of that movie. And I thought, well, what could she do ?I didn’t think (she should) play a teacher, I was trying to think of something you wouldn’t expect. I hope where fans were not expecting a little more surprise lets her be smart too, which Cady is.”
