Johnson was arrested Nov. 17 just outside of Nashville for speeding and drug possession, according to multiple reports.

The 49-year-old country music star, who recently released his first new album – “Midnight Gasoline” – in years, was reportedly taken into custody in Williamson County and charged with drug possession and speeding. His bond was set at $500,000.

“We can confirm that Jamey Johnson was arrested on Sunday, November 17th in Williamson Country,” the Tennessee Highway Patrol told WTVF. – The incident is still under investigation.

Whiskey Riff reported it Johnson was charged under a Tennessee law that states “possession of between half an ounce and 10 pounds of marijuana is a Class E felony punishable by up to one to six years in prison and up to a $5,000 fine .

The site said Johnson is scheduled to reappear in court on Feb. 6, 2025 at 6 p.m.

It’s hard to believe that Johnson, who was released and performed Wednesday night at the CMAs, would actually see a full six years … or, at any time at all, for a little bit of weed, but this will be one to watch.
