Soaking rain is expected throughout most of the day

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Good Tuesday morning! Tracks an approaching cold front that will increase showers during the morning and become heavy at times later today.

Temperatures will start out mild with readings in the 60s, and temperatures won’t move much throughout the day with highs not expected to reach the upper 60s until later this afternoon.

Rainfall totals with this approaching system will likely bring about 1-2” with some localized higher amounts; however, this is the best chance of rain since Helene back in September.

Wednesday will start with morning clouds and become mostly sunny with highs in the mid-70s as we await another strengthening cold front to move through the region late Wednesday and into Thursday.

Temperatures will drop into the 40s Thursday morning with highs struggling to reach the 60s in the afternoon, with Friday likely one of the coldest days in the forecast with temperatures dipping into the 30s and highs in the mid to upper 50s.

A little warming in the extended forecast before another cold front arrives next week.
