JACKSON – Consumers Energy said Friday it plans to upgrade its electrical outage system from 6 p.m. 19 Monday 18 November until as late as 15 Tuesday 19 November.

Customers will be asked to call Consumers Energy directly if they lose power or have other problems during that time.

The company said it needed to take this step to improve the system that tracks information about customer outages.

Customers will not be able to access information on the outage map, receive outage alerts, or obtain outage information from any of the consumer’s systems during this time. If customers lose power during the time frame, they should contact Consumers Energy at 800-477-5050.

“We would like to thank our customers in advance for their patience. … This upgrade will help us create a better system that continues to deliver real-time information to the public 24/7/365,” said Aaron Rajda, Consumers Energy’s vice president and chief digital officer.
