Selena Gomez is channeling Twiggy with an unexpected hairstyle — and fans are here for it

Selena Gomez and her undeniably influential empire hair, makeupand manicure never fail to get people talking, and the Emilia Perez Star’s latest look is certainly no exception.

But this time, fans weren’t just affected; they were surprised – and maybe even a little confused. Because while Gomez is known and loved for experimenting with variety hair lengths, bangsand colorsthe 32-year-old attended the Governors Awards on Nov. 17 in Los Angeles with a hairstyle we’ve never seen her with before.

Apparently, the supermodel is channeling Twiggy from the 1960s with a dash of modern times Wednesday AddamsGomez seriously embraced her inner dark-feminine energy with a chic, sleek style so sleek it’s actually hard to tell if it’s still wet, a pixie cut, or just a carefully constructed updo. But most interesting of all is the fact that Gomez and her go-to celebrity hairdresser Renato Campora– which is also responsible for Angelina Jolie’s latest disco curls— chose to leave a few strands out on and around her forehead and style them to the side with what looks like gel.

Gomez’s makeup, on the other hand, looked familiar. In a look created by a well-known make-up artist Hung Vanngo with Rare beauty productsGomez stunned with a subtle yet statement-making smoky eye, nude lip and voluminous brushed brows.

Gomez completed the ensemble with bold statement feather-like drop earrings and a classic tuxedo-inspired look. Gomez wore a stunning sequined Ralph Lauren dress, complete with contrasting white cuffs and a crisp white collar, which really seems like something Wednesday Addams would wear if she worked in fashion.

While Gomez’s glam was unexpected, fans were quick to share that they felt Gomez and her glam squad more than pulled it off. How? Well, they literally told them: Both Vanngo and Campora shared a behind-the-scenes reel of Gomez’s complete Governors Awards glam and was met with instant admiration for Gomez’s elegant yet edgy look.

“Sophisticated, elegant and absolutely fantastic . Professional and profoundly beautiful. Definitely another cover photo Vogue. ,” one Instagram user wrote. “Slay! I need to do this look ,” wrote another.

Expressing similar sentiments, hundreds of other Instagram users continue to chime in: “SERVING! That face card!” “Absolutely exquisite art.” “Oh, this one is my favorite.”

So I guess TL;DR is: Selena Gomez – and her glam squad – have once again nailed it.
