Judy Garland’s daughter shares candid opinion about ‘Wicked’

Lorna Luftdaughter of The Wizard of Oz star Judy Garland and businessman Sidney Luftwent to see Evil film adaptation with the lead role Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grandeand shares her honest thoughts about the film.

The latest addition to the The Wizard of Oz universe officially hits theaters on November 22, but the cast has been attending premieres around the world in promotion, giving certain people like Luft an early look at the film.

Luft took to Instagram on November 13 to share some photos from a premiere in New York City where she saw the film and met the director Jon M. Chu. She started the post by saying, “Hey everyone, just saw the New York screening of the movie #Wicked and here’s my review…”

She enthused, “This movie is amazing! It’s epic, brilliant, touching and honest. It’s breathtaking to look at…the sets, the costumes, the make-up, the acting, the choreography and the whole scope of the film is everything I wanted it to be.” .”

Luft went on to call Chu a “genius” before saying she told him that “he had picked up the torch, the broom and the wand and carried it forward,” and also thanked him “for adding to the family.”

She had equally strong praise for the film’s stars, Grande and Erivo, declaring that they “are nothing short of magnificent! They take you on an emotional rollercoaster and you better hang on tight.”

The 71-year-old also called out the rest of the “phenomenal” cast before finishing with the message: “So all I can tell you is go see it and be taken on the journey of the witches! And buckle up , because it’s a joy-filled trip L .”

Fans appreciated Luft’s honest words about Evil movie, with one writing in the comments that it was “The only review that matters!”

“I was hoping and praying that you would give your opinion on this! I just know your mom would have loved this movie and would be so proud!” said another.

Garland is known for starring in the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz as the protagonist Dorothy Gale, who is transported to the strange world of Oz with her little dog Toto.
