Famous Country Music Singer Arrested on Drug and Speeding Charges: Details of Jamey Johnson’s Incident

A popular figure in the country music genre is now facing multiple charges in Tennessee. Tennessee Highway Patrol officers arrested Jamey Johnson, the modern day outlaw country singer, on Sunday for alleged drug possession and speeding, according to the Nashville CBS affiliate Channel 5.

Law enforcement officials confirmed the arrest took place in Williamson County, a county that neighbors Nashville/Davidson County and includes the suburb of Franklin. According to the THP statement, “the incident remains under investigation.” His bail was set at $500,000; it is unclear when/if he was released.

Jamey Johnson has not commented on the arrest at press time. Currently, his only social media activity on Monday was an Instagram Story post about Bill Anderson’s new music video.
