Cowboys WR playing tonight vs Texans?

game

There’s nothing NFL fans and fantasy football owners hate to see more than late-week practice injuries. That’s exactly it Dallas Cowboys recipient CeeDee Lamb dealing with ahead of his team’s “Monday Night Football” game against Houston Texas.

Lam practiced fully for Cowboys Thursday and Friday before being limited on Saturday due to a back injury. As a result, the veteran receiver drew a “questionable” mark for Monday night’s game, putting his status for Dallas’ critical play in question.

Will Lamb play against the Texans or will his back injury keep him out? Here’s what you need to know about Lamb’s status for “MNF“in week 11.

CeeDee Lamb Injury Update

Dallas’ executive vice president Stephen Jones told 105.3 The Fan Monday that the Cowboys believe Lamb will be able to play on “Monday Night Football” in Week 11.

“We feel really good that he’s going to be able to play tonight,” Jones said when asked about Lamb’s status.

Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy didn’t seem overly concerned about Lamb’s injury when it occurred Saturday. He told reporters that Lamb “had something come up” during one of the team’s practices, but played down the possibility that the team’s star receiver missed the game.

“We’ll look at him (on Sunday) but I’m not too worried,” McCarthy told reporters on Saturday.

Cowboys fans and Lamb’s fantasy owners will still want to check the wideout’s status 90 minutes before game time when the inactive list is released. But at this point, it doesn’t appear that Lamb is in danger of missing Monday night’s Governor’s Cup game.

What is CeeDee Lamb’s injury?

Lamb is dealing with a back problem that popped up at the Cowboys’ practice on Saturday. Neither Lamb nor Dallas have provided any details about the nature of the injury. McCarthy has said only that it is not a major concern and the team expects him to play Monday.

Perhaps Lamb will give fans more details about his back problem after the “Monday Night Football” game.

Cowboys WR depth chart

Having Lamb available will be key for the Cowboys. He’s their No. 1 receiver, and without him, Cooper Rush would have to rely on an undocumented group to lead the charge for Dallas’ passing.

Below is a look at Dallas’ six-man receiver depth chart:

  1. CeeDee Lamb
  2. Jalen Tolbert
  3. Jalen Brooks
  4. KaVontae Turpin
  5. Ryan Flournoy
  6. Jonathan Mingo

The Cowboys also have a veteran receiver Brandin Cooks on IR and multi-year veterans Kelvin Harmon, Jalen Moreno-Cropper and Seth Williams on the training team. Moreno-Cropper is the only one of the team’s current practice squad receivers to record an offensive snap this season.

CeeDee Lamb stats

Lamb has logged 59 catches for 681 yards and four touchdowns during the 2024 NFL season. He leads the Cowboys in all three categories and enters Week 11 with 37 more targets than the next most targeted Cowboys, tight end Jake Ferguson (57).

Last season, Lamb led the NFL with 135 receptions and recorded 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns en route to his first All-Pro first-team nod. All of those marks represented Lamb’s career best mark.
