Windy, mild with bands of morning showers, possible thunderstorms tonight

(KFVS) – A line of showers is moving through our western counties of southeast Missouri and southern Illinois this morning.

Showers should end by mid-day.

This afternoon will be breezy and mild with highs in the 70s, despite lots of clouds.

Overnight, a weakening front will push through the Heartland with isolated showers and thunderstorms.

Severe storms are not expected, but a strong storm or two is possible.

Tuesday looks mostly sunny and less windy with temperatures near 70 degrees.

By mid-week, our mild pattern will change to a much cooler one as an upper low moves over the Great Lakes and our flow becomes northwesterly.

Rain looks to be holding off to the northeast.

Highs will not reach the 40s and 50s until Thursday and Friday.

It will also be windy and dry.

Temperatures look set to moderate over the weekend.
