Man arrested after 18-year-old Charlotte girl’s body found in Lincoln County

LINCOLNTON, NC (WBTV) – A man wanted for their involvement in the death of an 18-year-old Charlotte girl has been taken into custody, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said they made contact with Gregory Clifford Houser, 34, by phone and he agreed to turn himself in.

Houser was arrested at a relative’s home on Clemson Lane in Lincoln County around 10 p.m.

He surrendered to officers without incident.

Houser was arrested on one felony charge of concealing and failing to report a death.

He is also wanted for questioning in the death of Sydney Bisson, 18, whose body was found near NC Highway 150 in Boger City.

“We are relieved to share that the person responsible for Sydney’s death is now in custody. This development brings us one step closer to achieving the justice that Sydney deserves and we remain steadfast in our commitment to this person is being prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, the Bisson family told WBTV.

“Sydney was a brilliant light in our lives, a light that shone far too brightly for this world. We honor her memory by advocating for accountability and ensuring that no other family has to endure the immense pain we are experiencing. We appreciate sincerely appreciate your understanding and respect for our family’s privacy as we navigate this heartbreaking journey.”

Houser also has current pending charges in Catawba, Mecklenburg, Lincoln and Gaston Counties.

He is being held at the Harven A Crouse Detention Center without the privilege of bond.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is still actively investigating this case.
