‘The Voice’ winner Sundance Head’s wife reveals her bullet-riddled top after gun accident

Sundance Head has been released from hospital a day after suffering a gunshot wound to the stomach.

“The Voice” winner’s wife, Misty Head, detailed her husband’s recovery when she shared a photo of his bullet-riddled tank top following the accident at his Texas ranch.

“He was released late last night (and) we got home very early this morning,” Misty wrote on Facebook Saturday.

“It was an ass (sic) 3 hour trip home for him as the meds were wearing off and when he moved he bled profusely through his dressings not to mention he was only in a hospital gown was all his clothes at the ranch.”

Misty explained that they were able to get Sundance, 46, home safely and rewrap his bandages, even though he was “not an easy patient.”

She said she wanted to post the photo of his bloodstained clothes to emphasize “how lucky he was.”

“Any higher or lower would have been devastating,” she continued. “I cannot express how grateful we are for all the messages, calls and prayers. God is AWESOME.”

The country singer was airlifted to a hospital in Tyler, Texas on Friday. TMZ reported.

Misty said the musician was hunting at the ranch alone when the accident occurred.

“He was out of the vehicle reaching in to grab his 22s when he grabbed it, the 22s came out of their holster and hit the outside of the Jeep squarely and went off,” she said . explained on Facebook.

“Sundance said it happened so fast and he could see the bullet shifting.”

“… the bullet entered above his navel and lodged in his abdominal wall, missing all vital organs,” Misty explained further. “He won’t need surgery as they won’t remove the bullet.”

She added: “It was a good thing he was on the bigger side. The bullet is in his fatty tissue.”

Before the accident, Sundance had shared a photo from inside a tent, tells his Facebook followers that he awoke to the “sound of silence”.

Sundance won season 11 of “The Voice” in 2016. Blake Shelton served as his coach on the NBC singing competition.

He had previously appeared on “American Idol” in 2007.

He made it to the semi-finals in Season 6 before being eliminated a week before the finale.
