This year’s remaining celebrities have reached the final stage of the competition, which means they will be dancing in the venerable spring floor venue in the seaside town.

And among the famous faces taking to the floor is JLS star JB Gill, who is partnering Lauren after Amy Dowden pulled out of this year’s series.

After Amy suffered an unexpected stress fracture, the show has had to go on without her – but thankfully he and Lauren have continued to impress judges and fans alike.

But his bandmate Marvin has now issued a warning ahead of Blackpool, saying the show is “unpredictable.”

He said: “He’s absolutely killing it. He’s smashing it. I knew J was going to do well. J is such an amazing person, amazing dancer, amazing artist and you know, he’s my brother so super proud of him. “

But debating whether JB could make it to the final, he went on to tell the Mirror: “Look, listen, like we saw with Aston, you just don’t know with the show – it’s unpredictable. You know Aston should have won ( his series), but it didn’t quite go that way, and it was through no fault of his own.

“He was sent home by one of the referees, so sometimes it’s out of your hands.”

Marvin was referring to his and JB’s bandmate Aston Merrygold, who was partnered with Janette Manrara in 2017 and voted off the show mid-competition, becoming the sixth celebrity to leave that year.

Hitmaker Marvin continued: “(He’s) doing so well. If he had to go this Saturday, he can go with his head held high.

“If he gets through to the final, you also know he will hold his head just as high. He has made his friends, family and everyone so proud. Really, really happy for him.”

His comments come after It Takes Two host Janette Manrara noted a moment viewers may have missed following JB’s latest performance.

On Saturday night, he took to the stage with Lauren to perform a couple’s choice dance to a medley of songs by Bruno Mars.

After they finished dancing, he could be seen quietly saying ‘For you Amy’.

Janette pointed out the moment on It Takes Two and he smiled, confirming that she had read his lips correctly.

Speaking of his latest high score, JB added: “It was the first ten of the series for me and the highest mark of the series, obviously, but you know so much has happened over the last few weeks.

“Things that not everyone has seen as well as it does for many other couples.

“But when you ride through it and you’re able to perform on Saturday night and get a good result and obviously get tens, that’s just icing on the cake.”

JB’s new dance partner has paid tribute to the work Amy did with the pop star before she arrived on stage, saying: “Based on the groundwork Amy has put in, I just want to carry the torch forward as much as I can because she’s done all the work.”

Lauren added: “I want to do the partnership justice and also bring my flare to JB because he got the best of both worlds working with a couple of pros.”

JB will be up against Pete Wicks, Chris McCausland, Montell Douglas, Jamie Borthwick, Sarah Hadland, Tasha Ghouri and Wynne Evans in Blackpool.
