Indian cricket team wicket-keeper batsman Sanju Samson became the first ever player to score three T20I centuries in a calendar year after his sensational defeat against South Africa on Friday. The Indian opener looked in phenomenal form as he ended up scoring 109 off just 56 balls with the help of 6 fours and 9 sixes in the fourth T20I. Samson started the four-match series with a brilliant century, but he was dismissed for a duck in the next two matches. However, it did not affect his form at all as he looked to be in complete control of the South African bowlers on Friday and his brilliant knock took India to 283/1.

Coming into the match, Sanju Samson and Tilak Varma hit unbeaten centuries as India posted a massive 283 for 1 against South Africa in the fourth and final T20 International.

Varma made 120 not out off just 47 balls (9×4, 10×6) all Samson scored 109 not out off 56 balls (6×4, 9×6) after the visitors opted to bat first. This was the first time two Indians scored centuries in a T20I innings.

Lutho Sipamla (1/58) was the only South African bowler to pick up a wicket.
