BBC Children in Need is back and brighter than ever. Tonight’s three-hour extravaganza comes to you live at 7pm from MediaCity UK, Salford and promises to dazzle the nation as it raises life-changing funds for children and young people across the UK.

We’ve got everything you need to know about this year’s live entertainment extravaganza, including three hours of comedy, music and surprise guests!

Bluey and Strictly Come Dancing

In a unique first, Emmy Award-winning global TV sensation Bluey will be transported directly into the Strictly Ballroom and will dance right alongside the professional dancers to help raise funds to support the work the charity does for to help children and young people across the UK.

Viewers can catch a behind-the-scenes glimpse of Bluey’s very special dance during Strictly: It Takes Two on Thursday 14 November at 6.30pm on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.

IN in a heartwarming collaboration for BBC Children in Need, Academy Award, Golden Globe and three-time BAFTA-winning actor Gary Oldman will read a very special CBeebies Bedtime Story, which will be broadcast as part of Friday night’s BBC Children in Need 2024 show.

Doctor Who

There’s an out-of-this-world treat for Doctor Who fans as two highly collectible pieces of TV history will be auctioned off during tonight’s show.

Fans will have the chance to bid on Jodie Whittaker’s TARDIS, which was used on the set of the 2022 Festive Special Eve of the Daleks and for one night only to bid on the waitress costume worn by Kylie Minogue when she played Astrid Peth in Voyage of the Damned in 2007. Plus, the Fifteenth Doctor himself – Ncuti Gatwa – introduces a world-exclusive preview of the upcoming Doctor Who Christmas Special.

20 years after its original release as the BBC Children in Need single, Girls Aloud have released a brand new version of I’ll Stand By You with their beloved Sarah Harding on lead vocals throughout. The vocals were discovered in the Girls Aloud box while the band were collecting archive material for their sold-out The Girls Aloud Show arena tour earlier this year.

Girls Aloud members Nadine Coyle and Kimberley Walsh will visit a BBC Children in Need funded project, the Childhood Eye Cancer Trust (CHECT) at the Royal London Hospital, which supports babies and children whose lives have been permanently changed by retinoblastoma; an eye cancer that is typically diagnosed in babies and children under the age of six.

The live show

We’ll catch up with the cast of Paddington in Peru as Hugh Bonneville, Olivia Coleman, Antonio Banderas and Emily Mortimer decide who takes first place as their favorite bear: Paddington or Pudsey?

The gladiators join a very special dance class led by our favorite yellow bear, and be joined by some rather unexpected new recruits live in the studio…

For the first time ever BBC children in need choir will feature children from all over the UK who have been supported by BBC Children in Need funded projects. They come together in the studio to sing the anthemic Take That classic Never Forget.

Graham Norton’s red chair is back with a twist as a group of children from BBC Children in Need projects decide the fate of some famous faces trying to make the children laugh. Fail and they and the chair are tipped up.

The One Show’s Challenge Squadwhich features young people who have been supported by BBC Children in Need projects, culminating in two live performances in the studio with some very special guests including multi-platinum selling artist Ella Henderson. Audiences can also expect a special appearance from the cast of COME ALIVE! The Greatest Showman, which is a brand new Circus Spectacular.

Paddy McGuinness wants to find out the total amount he has raised Radio 2 Ultra Endurance Cycle Challenge, which will see him cycle through three nations and eight countries in support of the BBC Children in Need’s 2024 Appeal.

Northern Ireland

Join Jackie Bird who will be presenting a special Children in Need program on BBC Scotland on Friday 15 November at 22 in the evening.

This program will showcase the BBC Radio Scotland presenters’ week-long challenge and feature moving stories from children and young people across Scotland who have benefited from funds raised through BBC Children in Need.

Six famous faces join Alan Interior Design Masters for a fun makeover to raise money by transforming a project for young carers in the Midlands, before the judges decide who will win Stand Out Space.
