This is not Fred Zinnemann’s “Day of the Jackal”, but the Peacock series produces as much excitement and action as the 1973 film.

Based on Frederick Forsyth’s 1971 novel of the same name, the series has cast Eddie Redmayne to take on Edward Fox’s role as The Jackal. Redmayne also serves as one of the executive producers for the series.

“The Day of the Jackal” was directed by Brian Kirk (“Game of Thrones”) and was written by Ronan Bennet (“Top Boy”).

“The Day of the Jackal” premiered on the Peacock with the first five episodes of the series on Thursday, November 14. New episodes air weekly every Thursday until the double finale on December 12.
