World Kindness Day celebrated at Krispy Kreme & beyond

Wednesday is World Kindness Day.

Krispy Kreme Donuts is celebrating by giving away free donuts.

The first 500 people in each store received a free box of a dozen Original Glazed Donuts.

People were encouraged to share these donuts with colleagues, friends and strangers.

The first person in the doors at the Garden City Krispy Kreme said he planned to share his hot and finished donuts with his barber.

“Believe it or not, I’m getting a haircut later tomorrow and I’m going to give it to Mr. Joe right here in Surfside,” said customer Rod Lorick.

He also said he sees this day as an important reminder.

“Every day should be kindness day. So I just think everybody should try to give back a little bit extra every day to try to be kind and you know to just love each other. Especially right now in today’s times,” Lorick said.

Whether it’s with donuts or not, the day encourages everyone to share kindness.

Ideas include opening someone’s door, complimenting a stranger, or sharing gratitude on social media.
