This Minnesota city was voted among the best in the nation for celebrating Turkey Day

When it comes to celebrating Thanksgiving, one city in Minnesota managed to rank among the best in the United States.

A study of WalletHub ranked the 100 best US cities for Thanksgiving.

“The best cities to celebrate Thanksgiving all have an abundance of high-quality restaurants and places to buy festive decorations, and their residents get very excited about the holiday based on their Google search history. Other features make individual cities stand out; for example San Diego has great weather, Atlanta has a great track record for on-time flights, and San Francisco has surprisingly affordable accommodations,” said WalletHub analyst Chip Lupo.

WalletHub used Thanksgiving Celebrations/Traditions, Affordability, Safety & Accessibility, Giving Thanks and Thanksgiving Weather Forecast as categories for the survey.

The top five places to visit on Thanksgiving included San Diego, Atlanta, San Francisco, San Jose and Dallas.

Just outside the top ten was St. Paul, Minnesota. The Minnesota capital ranked 81st in celebrations/traditions, 29th in affordability, 20th in safety/accessibility, second in giving thanks and 71st in weather.

Minneapolis ranked 27th in the nation, and its highest ranking came thanks to Thanksgiving. No other Minnesota city made the top 100.

The bottom five places to spend Thanksgiving per WalletHub is Anchorage, AK; New Orleans, LA; San Bernardino, CA; Hialeah, FL and Stockton, CA.
