Disney Channel star is expecting first child


The Disney Channel alum and first-time mom is expecting with her boyfriend.

Calling all “Jessie” fans! The youngest of the Ross clan is about to become a mother.

Skai Jackson, who played Zuri Ross in the Disney Channel sitcom starring Debby Ryan, revealed she is pregnant with her first child in a statement to People magazine published on Tuesday.

Jackson, 22, is waiting with his girlfriend, who has not been publicly identified.

“I’m excited to begin this new chapter in my life — embracing motherhood and diving into new acting projects,” Jackson told the paper. “My heart is so full!”

Jackson’s pregnancy follows the actress’ recent run-ins with the law. Jackson was arrested Aug. 9 on suspicion of domestic violence, a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokesman confirmed to USA TODAY at the time. The former child star was apprehended during an outing at Universal Studios Hollywood after it was determined she was the “primary aggressor” in the domestic incident.

Universal Studios security personnel reportedly alerted police after seeing Jackson push his girlfriend more than once, according to TMZ. Authorities subsequently reviewed surveillance footage from the LA theme park, which allegedly showed Jackson pushing the unidentified victim, per People magazine and that Los Angeles Times.

No injuries were reported following the altercation, the LASD spokesman told USA TODAY. Jackson was taken to LASD’s West Hollywood station for booking and was released a few hours later.

In an interview from 2023 with People magazineJackson reflected that being a role model comes with “a lot of pressure,” telling the magazine, “At the end of the day, I see myself as the regular person that people happen to like or enjoy.”

“It’s very important to me to send the right message, be positive at all times and give my fans good advice,” Jackson added. “Let them know that anything they want to do in life, they can achieve it.”

Jackson’s most recent role was an appearance in the 2023 thriller “The Man in the White Van,” directed by Warren Skeels.
