Ruben Neves looked back at Molineux to watch Wolves vs Southampton

Wolves are preparing for their relegation six-pointer in the Premier League when they host Southampton at Molineux.

For Gary O’Neil to potentially save his skin and Wolves to stay in the top flight in May, this game is a must-win.

Wanderers find themselves rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table after Saints leapfrogged them into 19th position with a 1-0 win over Everton last time out.

Chris Sutton and Paul Merson both believe Wolves will beat Southampton to record their first win of the campaign and it’s a result supporters will need to see coming at full time.

Ruben Neves spotted at Molineux ahead of Wolves vs Southampton

This huge game is catching the attention of many across the UK, including club legend Ruben Neves, who has been spotted at Molineux ahead of the game.

Wolves journalist Nathan Judah confirmed his appearance for the match via X this afternoon as he is currently out until January after undergoing surgery on a knee injury.

For anyone associated with the Old Gold, seeing the Portuguese superstar in attendance is a huge boost and knowing he’s with the crowd can spur the players on to victory.

Neves is regarded as a legend at Wolverhampton, having guided the club through an incredible period of success under Nuno Espirito Santo.

The 27-year-old was part of the team that qualified for European football twice in a row following promotion back to the Premier League and was also known for his rocket of a strike.

Every Wolves supporter wishes he was still playing in gold, but he left the club to join Al-Hilal for £47million last year after 253 appearances and 30 goals for the Wanderers.

Wolves fans react to Neves at Molineux

Despite leaving Molineux over a year ago, the Portuguese midfielder still loves the club.

Two weeks ago, Neves responded to Wolves’ Instagram post after Matheus Cunha helped fire them back level against Brighton.

And after hearing he was taking part in the game against Saints, supporters have since given their reaction and they’re all unsurprisingly happy.

“Oh my god! I’m really over the moon about this. Positive vibes and a song to sing this afternoon,” said one follower.

“Judas!!! Convince the man to come back full time!!!,” replied another.

“Hope he brought his boots!” replied a third.

“We can’t lose with the king back in Wolverhampton,” added a fifth.

“The king has returned to his throne. Get him on the court,” replied another.

Like the majority inside Molineux this afternoon, Neves will be hoping his return to the club is marked by an all-important win.
