Why did Tanner Frick leave The Voice? Fans shocked as he posts cryptic social media videos after shock exit

The Voice fans were thrown for a loop on Monday when it was subtly revealed that Tanner Frick mysteriously left the show.

The show kicked off its 3-way knockout round in the new episode, with each judge — Snoop Dogg, Reba McEntire, Gwen Stefani and Michael Buble — pitting three singers against each other.

Buble went last, although host Carson Daly revealed that ‘Tanner left the competition after rehearsals’ and revealed that only Sloane Simon and Cameron Wright would compete in Knockout.

Hours before the episode, Frick, 26, cryptically posted a video on Instagram and TikTok, which includes audio to a new song, with the caption “Isn’t there someone who wants me anyway.”

Fans were pretty stunned by the revelation, taking to X along with Frick’s Instagram and TikTok posts to share their thoughts and ask why he left the show, which he has yet to publicly answer yet.

While his exit was revealed in a matter of seconds and not explained further during the show, fans had plenty of questions on social media.

X user @Chrisanna_Hi said: ‘Wait did @lastcallcd just say Tanner Frick “left after tryout?” Why? Is he ok?”

@tayquack_LT added: ‘I got some food and then JUST JUST found out Tanner left… it’s a bit of a surprise… oh my god… If it’s personal reasons I want him respectfully the best. ‘

@wgngrl added: ‘Why did Tanner leave? His story was amazing,’ while many other fans left messages on Frick’s social media.

Instagram user dani_nash317 said: ‘You were my favourite. Hate that you had to withdraw from the competition. Asking anything is ok.’

roxannemargadonna added: ‘You could have won it all. Sorry you left, hope everything is ok,” to which dookster1 said, “Dude, why did you quit? SMH.’

kachord added: ‘I really love your voice. I hope you continue to do great things!’ as ryanblack0131 said: ‘Hey bro where are you on The Voice tonight?’

Many others took to TikTok such as Jackie Hendricks who said ‘so sad to see you go’ and Chris Young who said: ‘Hate to see you go man I honestly think you could have won it all.’

Maria Rooster said, ‘Why did you go. you are amazing!!! seriously’ as NanaTWrightus said, ‘Missed you on The Voice tonight. I hope you’re okay!’

BeautifulDisaster90 said: ‘I had you on my team from day 1 of the app. said to see you go but things happen. keep pursuing the music.’

amw372 said: ‘So sad to hear you are leaving The Voice. Not sure what happened but you will be missed.’

Tanner’s Team Buble teammate Cameron Wright was chosen as the Knockout winner by the coach, although Buble used his only Save to keep Sloane on his team.

Elsewhere in the episode, Austyn’s Stancil eliminated Team Snoop’s Christina Eagle and Jake Tankersley, even though Snoop used his Save and all 3 other judges used their Steal, though Christina ultimately stayed on Team Snoop.

Jake was also stolen by both Reba and Gwen, though he chose Gwen when she used her only block to keep him from Reba.

Reba chose Adam Bohanan in his Knockout against Jaukeem Fortson and Cassidy Lee, although Jaukeem was stolen by Buble.

Jose Luis was chosen by Gwen over Camryn Brooks and Deon Jones, even though they weren’t stolen by other judges.

The Voice returns on Tuesday, November 12 at 8 PM ET on NBC.
