President Joe Biden guarantees a ‘peaceful transfer of power’President Joe Biden addressed the nation in what was his first on-camera appearance in the wake of Donald Trump’s decisive victory over Kamala Harris.

With projections made in most states across the country, ABC News has projected that former President Donald Trump will win the highly contested presidential race against Vice President Kamala Harris. Early Wednesday morning, Trump secured enough Electoral College votes to set himself up for a second presidency, including by flipping the key states of Georgia, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.

In addition to the presidential race, voters also hit the polls around the country on Tuesday, casting ballots to determine who controls Congress, state and local governments. The PA’s foreign minister says there are at least 100,000 ballots outstanding

There are “at least” 100,000 votes still outstanding in Pennsylvania amid a tight Senate race between incumbent Sen. Bob Casey and his Republican challenger David McCormick, Secretary of State Al Schmidt said Thursday night.

According to Schmidt, this count includes “provisional, military, overseas and Election Day votes.”

“We urge patience as election workers continue to do this important work, especially in contests where the margins are very close,” he said.

Trump announces chief of staff

Donald Trump announced that he had selected his campaign manager, Susie Wiles, as his White House chief of staff, the president-elect said in a statement Thursday.

President-elect Trump has announced his chief of staff.

“Susie Wiles just helped me achieve one of the greatest political victories in American history and was an integral part of both my successful 2016 and 2020 campaigns,” Trump said.

President Joe Biden has no plans to pardon his son, Hunter Biden, who was convicted of federal gun charges, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre reiterated during a press briefing Thursday.

McCarthy said he would decline to be Trump’s chief of staff if offered

Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy said he would turn down an offer to be Trump’s chief of staff during an interview earlier this week on Guy Benson’s Fox News radio show.

McCarthy said he “wouldn’t say yes” to the role, but suggested Susie Wiles, Trump’s campaign manager, would be a “good fit” for the role.
