Is Macaulay Culkin’s Cabin Alone Disney+ Movie Real?

Macaulay Culkin’s Cabin alone movies aren’t a real thing – and we need to have a serious conversation with the people who think they are. Did you know that it is possible to Photoshop together a fake movie poster? You can even add a cute little logo to make it look totally official! Apparently a lot of people don’t know about this newfangled photo editing software because a recent (obviously) fake poster of an imagined Alone at home the sequel has gone viral — and lots and lots and lots of people seem to think it’s real.

The Facebook post (as you can see here) has amassed over 135,000 likes in a week, and there are countless comments from fans expressing their excitement. “This is awesome! Keep making these, we all love Home Alone movies!” wrote a person. “What???? Can’t wait,” chimed in another.

Is Cabin alone a real movie?

Once again, no.

Our first clue? The Facebook “message” that started it all was posted by an unverified account called “YODA BBY ABY” that apparently posts spoof sequel posters. And yes, we’re pretty sure Disney+ isn’t dropping its big press releases from an account called “YODA BBY ABY.”

Second, the poster is kind of blatantly fake, guys! The title logo font with the cheesy stock image of a cabin wedged in the middle? The very obvious editing surrounding Culking and O’Hara? That Culkin’s name is misspelled with a random capital letter in the middle??

Third clue. The movie description. It reads:

“NEW HOME ALONE!!! KEVIN AND HIS MOM!!!

This Christmas, Kevin McCallister and his mother arrive early at their family’s secluded cabin, only to learn that the rest of the family’s flight is delayed. When Marv and Harry target the supposedly empty cabin, Kevin and his mother team up to defend it in the ultimate showdown. With snowy traps, outrageous pranks and high-stakes holiday fun, they turn the quiet cabin into an exciting battlefield that will make you laugh and cheer. Get ready for a wild holiday adventure with Cabin Alone streaming on Disney+ this December!”

Okay, that do sounds a bit fun. To be honest, everything O’Hara does is a riot. But as funny as it may sound, it also – yes – sounds completely and totally made up.

Will there ever be one Alone at home sequel with Macaulay Culkin and Catherine O’Hara?

While Millennials may have gotten used to getting sequels to iconic films from the 90s and 2000s, unfortunately we probably won’t be seeing O’Hara and Culkin repeat their Alone at home sign anytime soon.
