Fortnite Chapter 1 will return to Battle Royale “permanently”, leaks claim

About this time last year, Fortnite saw its highest player count ever as nostalgic players flocked back to Battle Royale for its mini OG season, which brought back the original Chapter 1 island. Right now, Epic Games is trying to replicate that success with Chapter 2 Remix, another mini-season featuring content from some of the best seasons from that era. But according to two prominent leakers, classic Fortnite Chapter 1 content will soon be returning in a big way — and this time, it will be for the longer term.

With Call of Duty Warzone planning to bring back its original Verdansk map next year, Apex Legends’ new season taking players back to how things were in Season 1, and Fortnite’s recent return to Chapters 1 and 2, you can see that nostalgia is a valuable commodity in the best Battle Royale games. But if what’s rumored right now turns out to be true (and given the leakers’ track records, it’s very likely), then Fortnite will give some of its earliest players a long-term reason to return to the game.

Both ‘Hypex’ and ‘ShiinaBR’ have heard from anonymous sources that all ten seasons of Fortnite Chapter 1 will return to the game and will support both the regular experience and Zero Build. The leaks claim that it will have a “full OG loot pool” containing only weapons from these seasons.

Each individual season of Chapter 1 returns on a monthly basis, so you have a month to play Chapter 1, Season 1, a month of Chapter 2, Season 2, and so on. Presumably this will also include all the map changes, new weapons and other content these seasons introduced.

The pair also claim this could be revealed at The Game Awards, which is set to air on Thursday, December 12. However, Hypex also says that it could be announced during “The Finale”, presumably meaning the finale of the current Chapter 2 Remix season. It is scheduled to end on Saturday, November 30.

The rollout of Fortnite Chapter 1 seasons is expected to start in December itself, so if these reports are correct, you might be playing the earliest season of Fortnite before the end of the year.

Even with such well-established hotties as Hypex and ShiinaBR, rumors should always be taken with a grain of salt – Hypex says the pair can “verify most of it”, but there’s always the possibility that things could change or that the information is broad . mark. However, neither would be bold enough to leak this without a strong degree of confidence – if it’s wrong, they’ll have a lot of disappointed Fortnite fans to answer to.

I have to admit that the recent obsession with nostalgia among some big multiplayer games is starting to worry me a little – I’m excited for these brief moments when we get to revisit golden eras of these games, but when old content is recycled at the expense of creating really original new experiences, it definitely makes me feel uneasy. This full Chapter 1 revival is being touted as a permanent part of Fortnite, so it should exist as its own entity in the game, which I’m more than happy with.
