As president Donald Trump celebrated his return to power for a second time, among family members on stage during his victory speech was a woman dressed in all black – Lara Trump. Wife of Eric Trump, President Trump’s third child, Lara is known for her confident presence and stunning looks and is a prominent figure alongside her father-in-law. On stage, she shared the spotlight with the newly re-elected president, standing to his right, wearing a black see-through ensemble with shoulder pads and sleeves that culminated in fur-like details.

And it’s not the first time the daughter-in-law has gone black for a big event. Shortly after Trump’s assassination attempt back in July, Lara wore a sleeveless black satin top as she delivered her keynote speech to close the second day of the Republican convention.

From her career achievements to her role in the Trump family, here’s everything you need to know about Lara Trump, a woman who has made a name for herself in politics and beyond.

Born Lara Lea Yunaska in Wilmington, North Carolina, Lara Trump is co-chair of the Republican National Committee. Lara met Eric Trump, son of Donald Trump, in 2008. The two began dating, and after six years of dating, they married in 2014 at Mar-a-Lago, Donald Trump’s estate in Palm Beach, Florida. Together, Lara and Eric have two children.

She is a central figure in the family and has stood by Trump’s support even as he faced criticism for his lack of outreach to female voters. Even as Melania and Ivanka Trump remained absent from a key ‘Women for Trump’ rally, Lara Trump rallied voters in favor of Donald Trump.

Before becoming involved in the political spotlight, Lara built a successful media career. She was the producer and host of Trump Productions’ Real News Update and also worked as a producer for Inside Edition before moving to Fox News in 2021 as a contributor. In December 2022, the company and Lara parted ways when Trump announced his bid for re-election. During Donald Trump’s 2016 and 2020 presidential campaigns, Lara took on prominent roles, emerging as a vital force in mobilizing support and communicating key messages.

In her personal life, Lara Trump is also a singer. In 2023, she released a cover of Tom Petty’s “I Won’t Back Down”, which debuted at #10 on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart and #6 on the Country Digital Song Sales chart. She began producing her own music in 2024; however, she has faced considerable criticism, with many reviewers claiming that she is untalented and uses heavy ‘autotune’ in her music.
