Senate election 2024 Live results

Voters in 33 states will cast ballots to elect one of their two U.S. senators, and voters in Nebraska will vote for both Senate seats. Democrats currently hold a narrow majority in the Senate, with 47 Democrats and four independents caucusing with them. Republicans are trying to win control of the chamber, a switch that would require them to change only two seats while holding all of their seats. The GOP believes it has an advantage in this election because more vulnerable Democrats are up for grabs, including in Ohio, a conservative state, and Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, all swing states. Republicans are also expected to win the contest in West Virginia, where Joe Manchin chose not to run for re-election. Elected as a Democrat, Manchin subsequently registered as an independent.
