Husband Divorces Wife Kisses Romeo Santos at Aventura Concert

At a recent Aventura concert in the Dominican Republic, a woman fulfilled her dream of kissing singer Romeo Santos … but it came at the cost of her marriage.

In videos of the viral moment, the fan – named Miriam Cruz – can be seen jumping on stage and greeting each member of the bachata group, giving Santos an extended kiss. The crowd responded with applause, and Cruz sat next to her celebrity crush with her hand on his lap for a bit as the band performed their song “La Guerra.”

Cruz’s husband of 10 years was not present at the concert, but footage of the kiss apparently got to him soon enough, and the couple have since split. In a now-deleted statement on social media, Cruz wrote: “I have to acknowledge that this achievement came at a very high price: the breakup of my 10-year marriage.”

Various social media posts claim that Cruz and her husband had other tensions in their marriage and the kiss with Santos was just what triggered the end. Cruz herself explained that she “got carried away by nerves and emotions without considering how this could affect my family” and now feels “overcome with deep grief” but respects her now ex-partner’s decision.

On the positive side, she feels “delighted” to have “achieved this long-awaited dream, one that I had envisioned for years.” Describing her love for Santos, she wrote: “For me, it’s not just about admiring the artist, but also about appreciating the great person he is. I’ve followed and admired him for a long time.”

Meanwhile, Aventura will play two more shows in the Dominican Republic this month, followed by a date in Spain. This month also marks the 10th anniversary of when Drake sang in Spanish with Santos on the single “Odio.”
