South Carolina favorite to land wide receiver Murph of Irmo | Sport

As for South Carolina, Anderson said head coach Shane Beamer and secondary coach Torrian Gray remain in constant contact. “It’s been great. They like to check up on me and the family,” Anderson said. “That’s a good thing. They are really getting to know me as a person and a footballer.

The year they are having is amazing. Coach Beamer got the boys right at the end of the season and they started winning games. Being there almost every home game has an impact on me learning more about the players, the coaches and the atmosphere. They say I’ll get a whole lot of playing time if I go there, special teams and on defense.”

Next up for Anderson in the recruiting process will be junior day visits. He said none have been set, but he plans to look at USC, Clemson, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Tennessee and Alabama, among others. At this point, he doesn’t have a favorite.

• OT Darian Gray of Richmond named a top 12 pick Tuesday and included Clemson and USC. Also in the group are Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Ohio State, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Penn State, Oregon, LSU and Michigan. He visited both USC and Clemson during the year.
