Quiet and cool Thursday

On Thursday, the clouds will break and some sunshine will return with cool temperatures around 40°. A fast moving system will throw a few snow flurries our way overnight, isolated smooth patches are possible for your Friday morning commute. The weekend will turn colder with the potential for a significant winter storm in the Ohio Valley Sunday into Monday. All winter precipitation types are on the table with snow north changing to mixed precipitation (freezing rain and sleet) to cold rain as you go from north to south. The amounts and storm track are still uncertain, but prepare for travel impacts, especially from the Bluegrass to northern counties late into the weekend.
