BALTIMORE — Expect more bluster and cold winds today. The cold continues into this weekend with two chances for snow on Friday and Monday.

The cold wind continues to howl this Thursday. Although the wind is not quite as extreme as Wednesday, there are still gusts. Expect sunshine this morning, giving way to rising clouds this afternoon. Gusty winds persist throughout the day with gusts over 30 mph. High temperatures will reach the lower 40s, but wind chills will remain in the upper 20s and lower 30s.

Colder weather is expected tonight with mostly clear skies tonight. Clouds will begin to thicken towards morning. Lows will dip into the mid to upper 20s.

Our next weather producer will be a shear system that will bring rain and snow showers to the area Friday afternoon and evening. Precipitation may begin as rain and/or a rain and snow mix before changing to a brief period of wet snow showers Friday evening. Snow can accumulate a coating of up to 1″, mainly on grassy surfaces. Road temperatures will likely be too warm for accumulation, but you should take extra care driving on elevated surfaces such as bridges and overpasses, which can be slippery. Keep checking back to this forecast if changes are needed.

Expect bitterly cold weather this coming weekend. This includes the Ravens game on Saturday afternoon, where temperatures will be numbingly cold with highs in the lower 30s, but with an aggressive and biting cold wind, it feels like temperatures will be in the upper-teens to mid- The 20s. We’ve issued a First Alert Weather Day for Saturday because chills during the game will be in the upper teens and lower 20s, so bundle up and dress in layers if you’re going to the game.

A bitterly cold breeze will continue Sunday, but not quite as gusty as Saturday, with highs in the lower 30s.

The chance for accumulating snow will continue to increase across the area Sunday night into Monday afternoon. It is too early to determine how much snow may fall, but there is an increasing chance of plowable snow in at least part of the area during this time. We have marked Monday as a possible alarm day. Keep an eye on the forecast into the weekend as clarity on timing and possible snow amounts increases.

More bitter cold is expected after possible snow on Monday. The next batch of cold will be even colder than the coming cold this weekend.
